Purpose of General Insurance

As we proceed in life we start to accumulate assets – in some cases liabilities – like properties and not forgetting responsibilities.

One of our main concerns in life other than enjoying it to the fullest, is to ensure that we continue to enjoy it.

The assets we accumulate over the years could be substantial and any mishap to these assets would make it difficult for both ourselves and our family to continue to maintain that enjoyment level.

For example, we buy a house which cost us RM250,000.

If the house is destroyed by fire, we would lose the enjoyment of this asset. More importantly, it would be extremely difficult for most of us to replace it in a short time.

By insuring this asset, we are protected from such misfortune and the 'risk' is transferred to an insurance company through a relatively small cost.
