Standard Chartered Trust Fund
Standard Chartered Trust Fund (SCTF) was registered in 2005 under the Trustee Incorporation Act 1952 as the
charitable arm of Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad. Its main objective is to identify and channel
financial support and aid to deserving community programs in Malaysia currently based on the following themes -
Living with HIV/AIDS, Seeing Is Believing, and Youth, Health & Education.
The SCTF is administered by a Board of Trustees, comprising seven members - three (3) senior management members of the Bank and four (4) independent members. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees is the current Chief Executive Officer of the Bank.

The Board oversees a Working Committee which is responsible for the day to day management of the SCTF. A Working Committee comprising eight (8) senior Bank officers representing various divisions of the Bank is appointed by the Board to administer the Fund. The Working Committee is chaired by the current Head of Corporate Affairs of the Bank who is also a member of the Board of Trustees.
From time to time, the Board may consider providing financial support to other themes or causes, however, in selecting projects that merit such financial support, the Board of Trustees and its working Committee will be guided at all times by the following Guiding Principles which are aligned to the Trust Deed.
These are:
- Long term, sustainable and visible deliveries to the community;
- Enhancement of the Bank’s standing in the community;
- Focus on high impact activities;
- Opportunities for the staff and stake holders’ involvement.
SCTF programmatic activities support are in line with the SCBMB’s sustainability community investment programmes focusing on Living with HIV/Aids and Seeing is Believing. In 2009, SCTF has expanded its scope of beneficiaries to cover intellectual disabilities children.
Between 2008 to 2010, SCTF has contributed:
- RM1,353,604.00 to HIV/Aids related beneficiaries
- RM455,20.00 to Seing is Believing projects
- RM95,730.00 to the intellectual disabilities training centers under our Youth, Health & Education scope.
