Current Account-i is based on the Islamic contract of guaranteed safe- keeping or 'Al-Wadiah Yad Dhamanah'. This principle refers to a concluded contract between the owner (depositor) of the goods (the money) and the custodian (bank) for safe-keeping. The depositor grants the bank permission to utilise the money for whatever purpose permitted by Syariah. The Bank will then may pay a discretionary 'hibah' or gift.

Current Account-i is Syariah-compliant current account and offers you the benefits of a savings account coupled with the flexibility and convenience to make withdrawals and deposits without any restriction on the number of transactions using a chequebook.

How Current Account-i works to your benefit

Cheque-Issuing facility with Dividend Rates	You can make payments using your cheque book whilst the bank may pay a discretionary 'hibah' to our Current Account-i customer based on the performance of the return of investment. Click here for more information on the rates.
Principal Guaranteed	Available both to individuals and business accounts. Deposits are fully guaranteed from any risk or loss and managing the Current Account-i is as easy as any other current account.
Syariah Compliant	Your money will be invested in activities approved by the Syariah Consultant to ensure all investment activities are in accordance to Syariah principles.
Monthly Statement	Every month, a statement will be sent to you, helping you keep track of all transactions. If you have more than one account with us, we will send you a consolidated statement for an all-in-one monthly report. This way, you can tell your financial position at a glance. Convenience access to your funds	You will receive an ATM Card, which you can use to conveniently withdraw or deposit cash and cheques at any Standard Chartered branch locally 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. (withdrawal up to RM3,000 daily). Our network of ATMs offers HOUSe and MEPS Interbank GIRO for added convenience. You will also have access to over one million ATM outlets in more than 150 countries.

Easy to apply	Individual account or joint account Minimum deposit is RM2,000. To apply, all you need is a copy of your NRIC. Accountholder must be 18 years old or more. Sole Proprietor / Partnership Minimum deposit is RM5,000.00, and the following documents are needed: Business Registration (Form A) Company License (Form D) Copy of NRIC of all partners as individual customer Club, Society, Association , Cooperative and Non Profit Organization Minimum deposit is RM5,000, and the following documents are needed: Copy of NRIC Certified copy of Rules and Regulation Certified copy of a Resolution to open the account signed by the Chairman and Secretary Certified copy of the Certificate of Registration Minutes of Meeting Private Limited Companies Minimum deposit is RM5,000, and the following documents are needed: Identity documents of all Directors and signatories Certified copy of the Certificate of Incorporation (Form 49) Certified copy of the Return of Allotment of Shares (Form 24) Certified copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association Certified copy of a Board Resolution regulating the conduct of the account Certificate by the Registrar of Company that the company is entitled to commence business Certified copy of a Resolution to open the account signed by the Chairman and Secretary Certified copy of the Certificate of Registration Minutes of Meeting
