Terms and Conditions
  1. Only individuals are eligible to open a Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad (Standard Chartered) e$aver account (“Account”), whether solely or jointly with another individual, subject to a maximum total of two (2) joint accountholders.

  2. In the case of a joint Account, you irrevocably agree that the Account is to be operated on an “either one to sign” mandate. This provision shall prevail over any other provision whatsoever permitting the mandate to be revoked.

  3. The Account may only be opened with funds which are not transferred from your other accounts with Standard Chartered (whether by cheque or by fund transfer), subject to such minimum initial deposit as Standard Chartered may require from time to time.

  4. You may opt to either receive / have a monthly physical statement or to register for Standard Chartered’s Online Banking service and subscribe for the
    e-Statement service.

  5. If you opt for the e-Statement, your statements may be downloaded via
    Standard Chartered’s Online Banking service, but you will not receive the physical hard copy of the statement. Your statements will not be sent to you via e-mail, notwithstanding any provisions to the contrary in the terms and conditions of, or other materials relating to, the e-Statement service.

  6. Balances in the Account will earn interest at the prevailing rate(s) applicable to the e$aver Account as published at Standard Chartered branches from time to time. All interest rates are subject to change at Standard Chartered’s discretion without any need for prior notice to you.

  7. Interest is calculated on a daily basis and credited to the Account monthly. Interest earned on your account may be subject to withholding tax in accordance with prevailing laws or regulations.

  8. The Account is further subject to Standard Chartered’s General Rules and Regulations for savings and current accounts (“General Rules and Regulations”).

  9. Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad (“Standard Chartered”) reserves the right to vary or amend any of these Rules and Regulations, the General Rules and Regulations or to indicate any other additional Rules and Regulations by notice to you.

  10. In the case of any inconsistency or conflict between the English version of these Rules and Regulations and versions in other languages, the English version shall prevail.
