Terms & Conditions

Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad’s (SCBMB) “Sign Save Swipe” (“Promotion”) commences from 18 May 2009 – 31 December 2009 (“Promotion Period”).

The following categories of persons are not eligible for this Promotion:-

2.1	Permanent and/or contract employees of SCBMB (including its subsidiaries and related companies) and their immediate family members (spouses, children, parents, brothers and sisters); and
2.2	Representatives and/or employees of SCBMB’s appointed advertising agencies, who were involved in the planning or implementation of this Promotion.

Subject to clause 2 above, all existing and new customers of SCBMB who:

3.1	hold at least one SCBMB Savings Account;
3.2	sign up/have signed up for SCBMB’s Online Banking service; AND
3.2	sign up/have signed up for SCBMB’s eStatement service; are eligible to participate in this Promotion (“Eligible Participants”).

For the purposes of this Promotion, joint accounts will be treated as being accounts belonging to the firstnamed accountholder only, and trust accounts will be treated as belonging to the accountholder on record.

Each Eligible Participant is entitled to entries in this Promotion (“Entries”) based on the following 2 determining factors: -

5.1	Customer’s aggregate monthly average balance in all SCBMB Savings Accounts owned by the customer, where every RM1,000 entitles the customer to ONE (1) Entry (“Basic Entry”).
5.2	Total number of times of use of all Debit Cards tagged to the customer’s SCBMB Savings Accounts. This number will be multiplied by the customer’s number of Basic Entries to generate the customer’s total number of Entries.

Eligible Participants can only be a winner of a Monthly Prize once throughout the entire Promotion. However, Monthly Prize winners continue to be eligible to win the Grand Prize.

At the end of every month during the Promotion, all Eligible Participants with at least one (1) Entry will be listed (“List”) in accordance with their unique SCBMB customer identification numbers as per SCBMB’s internal records. Thereafter, Eligible Participants who have further Entries will be added into the said list a second time, again in the said order, then a third time, and so on until all their Entries have been exhausted. New lists will be generated each month.

The winners of the Monthly Prizes will be determined through a computerized selection process, where the total number of entries amassed in the List for the relevant month will be divided by twenty (20) and the result rounded down to the nearest whole number (“Basic Monthly Determinant”). The Basic Monthly Determinant will then be multiplied by each whole number from 1 to 20, and the resulting numbers will be known as the “Monthly Determinants”. The winners for the Monthly Prizes are the Eligible Participants whose positions on the List match the 20 Monthly Determinants. Where the Eligible Participant at any winning position has previously won a Monthly Prize in this Promotion, the winner will be the Eligible Participant at the next position in the List.

The List for the last month of the Promotion Period will also be used to determine the Grand Prize winner. The total number of entries amassed in that List will be divided by 2 and rounded up to the nearest whole number. The winner of the Grand Prize will be the Eligible Participant at that position in that List.

Prizes offered for this Promotion are as follows:

Prizes will be credited into the respective winners’ newest account held with SCBMB 2 weeks after the end of the relevant.

11.

The Monthly Prize winners will be announced after two (2) weeks following the end of the relevant month, and the Grand Prize winner will be announced together with the winner of the last monthly Prize. The judges’ decisions shall be final. No appeal or correspondence will be entertained.

12.

Winners will be announced on SCBMB’s official website.

13.

By participating in this Promotion, participants:

13.1	agree to participate in any prize giving ceremony, interviews or other publicity events required by SCBMB; and
13.2	consent for SCBMB to disclose or publish their names, photographs and any information that SCBMB sees fit about the participants or their account(s) in any media, marketing or advertising materials.

14.

SCBMB reserves the right at its absolute discretion to cancel, terminate or suspend this Promotion in whole or part, at any time and without prior notice.

15.

SCBMB reserves the sole and absolute discretion to vary or amend the terms and conditions of the Promotion without prior notice to the participants.

16.

By participating in this Promotion, customers agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
